Κατά την παράδοση όμως γεννήθηκε στο Ριζοκάρπασο. Από μικρή ξεχώρισε για την καλοσύνη της</del>, <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">την προθυμία της να εξυπηρετήσει τους άλλους και την αρετή της. Έμαθε να διαβάζει και να γράφει στο σχολείο </del>του <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">χωριού της. Τότε άρχισε να αποστηθίζει διάφορους ψαλμούς και ύμνους της Εκκλησίας μας. Όταν μεγάλωσε</del>, <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">έφυγε από </del>το σπίτι <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">της </del>και <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">πήγε σ' ένα σπήλαιο για να ασκητεύσει</del>. <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">Εκεί πέρασε όλη την υπόλοιπη ζωή της: μια ζωή προσευχής</del>, <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">εγκράτειας και ολοκληρωτικής αφοσίωσης στον Ουράνιο Νυμφίο Χριστό. Το σπήλαιο αυτό βρίσκεται στο χωριό Άγιος Ανδρόνικος</del>, <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">παραπέμπει σε πρωτοχριστιανικούς ή και πρωτοβυζαντινούς χρόνους και πιθανό να προϋπήρξε της Αγίας Φωτεινής. Το άγιο λείψανο της βρέθηκε στη σπηλιά γύρω στα 1718 - 32 μ.Χ. </del>με τη <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">σκαλιστή επιγραφή από πάνω «Φωτεινή Παρθένος Νύμφη Χριστού». Εξακολουθεί </del>και <del style="font-weight: bold; text-decoration: none;">σήμερα να προσφέρει θεραπεία σε όσους πάσχουν από οφθαλμικά νοσήματα. Το ασκητήριο (σπήλαιο) της Αγίας Φωτεινής υπάρχει μέχρι σήμερα και βρίσκεται στο χωριό Άγιος Ανδρόνικος. Κατά την παράδοση όμως γεννήθηκε στο Ριζοκάρπασο. Από μικρή ξεχώρισε για την καλοσύνη της, την προθυμία της να εξυπηρετήσει τους άλλους και την αρετή της. Έμαθε να διαβάζει και να γράφει στο σχολείο του χωριού της. Τότε άρχισε να αποστηθίζει διάφορους ψαλμούς και ύμνους της Εκκλησίας μας. Όταν μεγάλωσε, έφυγε από το σπίτι της και πήγε σ' ένα σπήλαιο για να ασκητεύσει. Εκεί πέρασε όλη την υπόλοιπη ζωή της: μια ζωή προσευχής, εγκράτειας και ολοκληρωτικής αφοσίωσης στον Ουράνιο Νυμφίο Χριστό. Το σπήλαιο αυτό βρίσκεται στο χωριό Άγιος Ανδρόνικος, παραπέμπει σε πρωτοχριστιανικούς ή και πρωτοβυζαντινούς χρόνους και πιθανό να προϋπήρξε της Αγίας Φωτεινής. Το άγιο λείψανο της βρέθηκε στη σπηλιά γύρω στα 1718 - 32 μ.Χ. με τη σκαλιστή επιγραφή από πάνω «Φωτεινή Παρθένος Νύμφη Χριστού». Εξακολουθεί και σήμερα να προσφέρει θεραπεία σε όσους πάσχουν από οφθαλμικά νοσήματα. Το ασκητήριο (σπήλαιο) της Αγίας Φωτεινής υπάρχει μέχρι σήμερα και βρίσκεται στο χωριό Άγιος Ανδρόνικος. Μοιάζει με κατακόμβη, η είσοδός του είναι στενή και υπάρχει μια σκάλα από 23 σκαλοπάτια φτιαγμένη από εγχώριες πέτρες που οδηγεί στο εσωτερικό.
