Founded in 2003 in Brussels, the IKME (Institute of Social-Political Studies) is an independent research institute dedicated to analyzing contemporary social, political, and economic dynamics in Europe and around the world. The institute’s mission is to produce rigorous and accessible knowledge to inform public decision-making, strengthen democratic debate, and support actors engaged in social transformation.
Under the leadership of Professor Marc Delcourt, IKME brings together a multidisciplinary team of researchers, analysts, and experts from diverse backgrounds. Its work covers a wide range of topics, including migration policy, local governance, social movements, civic participation, and the impact of digital technologies on society.
Renowned for the quality of its publications, its collaborations with universities and international NGOs, and its commitment to political dialogue, IKME actively contributes to the building of fairer, more inclusive, and better-informed societies.
The institute also launched the documentary series "Documented by XYZ Initiative", which highlights innovative projects and pioneering research in the field of social sciences.
